“Each person has two countries” – is Ammar Alnahhas statement now that he has relocated to Romania, coming originally from the ancient, beautiful and historic country – today divided by civil war – of Syria. Upon coming to Romania in 2006 to join his family, way before 2011 when the civil Syrian war started, Ammar started to find his own ways of expressing his feelings, through painting and sculpture. He received a very good welcome in Bucharest starting since 2010 to have personal solo exhibitions and was highly appreciated and supported by a reputable art critic Marius Tita who wrote many appreciative critics in its blog: Artindex .
In 2019 Ammar Alnahhas become a romanian citizen and since 2021 he is a member of the UAPR- Romanian Artists Union.
Through his many exhibitions in Galleries but more important in Art Museums throughout Romania since his arrival in Romania , Ammar has become much-appreciated by collectors. His art, in private collections from Europe to the Orient, does not change the way Ammar lives. He creates with honesty and he has remained modest in his sole.
There is a Mesopotamian touch in his art, those cultural patterns Ammar came with from Syria, which you can discover in his works from our Gallery, presented in “From East to West” exhibition in November 2017 followed by also a solo show in 2018 presented by Renaissance Art Gallery at Intercontinental Hotel Bucharest part also of “From East to West”,his style evolved over the years and you can clearly see a difference in his art work now in 2024 when he had at Renaissance Art Gallery a solo show “Ammar’s garden- a Renaissance Garden” and at the group show “Past, Present and Future” in 2025 part of NAG- Noaptea Alba a Galeriilor- White Night of the Galleries in Bucharest .
