The Story of the painting ENGL:
When I painted this piece, I wasn’t simply arranging apples on a plate on a canvas — I was reaching back into my past, deep into the soil of my birthplace, Mesopotamia, where myths were first breathed into clay tablets and rivers whispered stories older than memories.
The two green apples became more than some fruits arranged on a platter.
They became symbols — of temptation, of that original moment in Eden when innocence turned to knowledge.
I saw Adam and Eve not just as biblical figures, but as timeless beings, bound to the land and the longing that defines us all. The background, abstract and layered, echoes the sun-bleached walls of ancient temples, the broken lines of history that still pulse under our modern surfaces.
This painting is quiet, yes — but it carries a weight.
The apples rest in stillness, yet they hold within them the echo of a choice that changed everything.
I painted them as a way of asking: what do we carry from the past, and what still tempts us today?
