We hear an oscillation between the ordinary experience, defined by permanent familiarity, in this case illustrated by the interior of the circle, and the non-familiar
experience, characteristic of exteriority. The chalk transgresses the line, thus expressing vital tension and a diffused, antagonizing dynamic. The Gaugin used in the
background is a simple technical stylistic choice, and is in no way influencing the piece’s concept.
CREATION PROCESS: This painting was produced with Mirel’s special technique : he started from the picture of a Gaugain painting, Vision after the Sermon (Jacob Wrestling with the Angel), a masterpiece of color usage, minimal color shading that represents Gaugain’s move from naturalism to abstract painting.
Mirel created his own abstract painting digitally on the top of Gaugain’s where you can note only on the middle top the tree brunch used so wisely by Gaugin and color scheme from Gaugin’s painting.
