The painting is part of 15 works from solo exhibition entitled“ Limit and Evolution” , September 2017 at Renaissance Art Gallery. The exhibition’s general theme revolves around the limitation train of thought; specifically, it relates to understanding how limitation acts within the landscape of the process we call evolution.

The piece of chalk stands as the epitome of traditional education whose concepts were strict, rigid, is the Supreme Authority itself and it is used to break the lines and limits symbolizing the evolution.
Mirel used a special technique combining old oil painting skills and digitalization as he started this painting from a photography of still nature (piece of chalk) that was used as a base to create the abstract painting in a sequence of digital images that he copied afterwards exactly and created the final painting.
