InterContinental Bucharest and Renaissance Art Gallery continue the series of inspirational art exhibitions in the Intermezzo Lobby Lounge, to support artists living and creating in Romania.
We are pleased to present you to “Flights in mirror”, an art exhibition featuring the works of 2 Romanian artists, one painter, Victor Andrei Ionescu and one metal sculptor, Darius Hulea, reunited in order to approach the subject of FLIGHT.
Humans have been passionate about the flight since the antiquity and you can find the symbol of FLIGHT presented as MAGICAL BIRDS or WINGS or WINGED NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE CHARACTERS in most countries in their fairy tales, folk tales or ancient believes/ traditions. Both the paintings of Victor and the sculptures of Darius, talk about the same thing: about desire of humans to raise, to develop, to fly physically but also spiritually.
Special guests on opening night were: Romanian actor part of the National Theater Bucharest cast, Ioan Andrei Ionescu , who interpreted the role of Constantin Brancusi in the movie “ Brancusi from Eternity” nominated for BAFTA in UK and the Romanian actor at TNB Lari Giorgescu, who recited a text from Gigi Caciuleanu inspired by Victor Andrei Ionescu painting “Self Portrait”, which was the inspiration of the exhibition for Oana Visoiu- curator of Flights in Mirror and owner of Renaissance Art Gallery.
