Essentialism  by ALEXANDRA ANDONE, Painting Exhibition 27 FEBRUARY – 7 APRIL  2019 Intercontinental Hotel, Bucharest, Romania

“I paint because I’m always challenged by new ideas and how I should put them in practice. When I look at a painting, I see a window to another world.
A new world.
A world that unveils itself and invites to a journey beyond the wall where the painting hangs. A world where the stories are the witness of the events, where the trees talk, the wings are free and the colors simplify the forms. A world where the creation is new.
I paint because I have too much color in my soul”.

Before schizophrenia, my art was warm and optimistic. Afterwards, gradually, it evolved towards a darker stage. This was due to the depression associated to my drug abuse at that time. I used to paint representations of my visual hallucinations or just to escape from the…

In 2013 he won the price “Grigore Bradea”, a distinction given only to the most talented Romanian sculptures.  His statues are created 100% manually by him using the welding procedure in order to assemble metal wires to represent metal portraits often fragmented and incomplete.  Most of these portraits represent philosophers, writers and historical musicians well known in his country. Darius Hulea captures the spirituality and essence of these great thinkers in his sculptures.

His first major solo exhibition in Bucharest- Romania’s capital city, “Outline”, consisted of metal portraits of people close to Constantin Brancusi, the famous Romanian- French sculptor.

HIDE AND SEEK BY IULIA TOADER, PAINTING EXHIBITION 1 NOVEMBER 2018- 25 February 2019 INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL, BUCHAREST

HIDE AND SEEK BY IULIA TOADER, PAINTING EXHIBITION 1 NOVEMBER 2018- 25 February 2019 INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL, BUCHAREST

“Hide and Seek” by Iulia Toader, a painting exhibition at Intercontinental Hotel of Bucharest, Intermezzo Lobby Bar, 1 Nov- 28 Nov, 2018. The exhibition is a  story in pool and acrylic about childhood , a story of love, time and ephemeral beauty.

“Hide and seek”is such a familiar game for all children; scientific speaking, it looks like a behavioral coaching for facing or experiencing the adult world.

Adult human beings belong to complex social systems where ideas, characters, desires, all phenomena of existence, are all pieces in an apparently chaotic game, but with a clear causality, a universe in itself, a game where all phenomena– our perception about objects- and noumena– the object itself- are hiding and constantly revealed.

“I believe that the beauty of the game resides in that that hiding, mystifying, is a necessary pre-conditioning of finding truth, of revealing” says Artist Iulia Toader.

As an art work, childhood is always a phenomenological reflection of the inner world of the adult observer.A universe that is intentionally evanescent and peaceful, but which at a closer look, hides imminent danger. We are all prisoners in this universe, our own childhood, our children’s’, and it really is the mirror of our own spiritual existence.

In her second exhibition with Renaissance Art Gallery and in partnership with InterContinental Bucharest and OZB Magazine, Iulia’s collection of childhood paintings reveals the artist belief that the universe of childhood is always an artwork in itself, being perceived through the adult eyes, and never directly by the children, as they are in a continuous alpha state, that is evanishing when they are starting to grow up.

‘I am happy to organize this first launching event in partnership with Renaissance Art Gallery and OZB Magazine, especially because this proves that Intermezzo Lobby Lounge became a trustworthy art stage for young talented artists, a space for quality gatherings in the heart of Bucharest, considering this is the fifth exhibition since we opened this chic spot in our hotel lobby.’ stated Lior Bebera, General Manager at the InterContinental Bucharest.

, the motto of the Renaissance Art Gallery comes more and more to life with this new exhibition and the empowerment of yet another talented lady, Iulia Toader, who reveals her passion and personality, in a reflection of the chilhood universe mirroring her own soul”, said Oana Visoiu, the owner of Renaissance Art Gallery.

SAMSARA, a SURREAL GRAPHIC ART exhibition, DRESSED IN COFFEE by Marian Simon

SAMSARA, a SURREAL GRAPHIC ART exhibition, DRESSED IN COFFEE by Marian Simon

SAMSARA, a SURREAL GRAPHIC ART exhibition, DRESSED IN COFFEE by Marian Simon, a Romanian surreal graphic artist and student of Marcel Chirnoaga a genius of surreal art had its opening today at the “Tower of council” in  Sibiu, Transylvania, Romania.

The exhibition is part of the International Theater Festival in Sibiu (FITS) and will be opened to the public till  1 August 2018. Details at FITS website.

The visual art is accompanied by SURREAL poetry made by Jack Simon from Israel.

“I have never been a coffee drinker, but this didn’t stop me for being fascinated with its color, the vintage color of elegance, refinement, the classic, the oneiric, the dream, the subconscious, of psychoanalysis and, ultimately, of surreal art.
The term “samsara” is tightly connected to the notions of “avidya” and “karman”. Samsara designates the circuit of existence in the world according to the formula birth-death-rebirth. The beings are reincarnated according to their past- life deeds and this life is followed by another. This fundamental law of transmigration (samsara) is based on Indian philosophy and religious beliefs.” – Marian Simon

The wash tint of all the artworks in this exhibition is nothing but COFFEE and Marian uses on the coffee background INK with a bit of white acrylic to finalize its graphics works of 100×70 cm that were part of SAMSARA exhibition at Renaissance Art Gallery, Bucharest in May 2017 and to create smaller works for the move of SAMSARA in Sibiu in 2018.
The rest is art, philosophical thought, surreal graphics, coffee and the silence of dreams.

What is Surreal Art?
